my ~/.emacs

I like o keep my emacs config as simple as possible, considering that I don't know Lisp.

(display-time)
(line-number-mode t)
(set-background-color "black")
(set-foreground-color "green")
(transient-mark-mode 1)
;;(global-hl-line-mode)
(scroll-bar-mode -1)
(setq-default abbrev-mode t)

;; ---keys---

(global-set-key "\C-x\C-m" 'execute-extended-command)
(global-set-key [f12] 'shell)
(global-set-key [f11] 'rename-buffer)
;;(global-set-key [f9] 'cperl-perldoc)
